"First, thanks to the dude (R. Cazares) that tabbed Cochise. You da man! This song
(Like A Stone) absolutely rocks. Its number 5 on the album, and this tune demonstrates
the powerful simplicity behind Tom Morello's dynamic genius. The intro-verse riff illustrates
this really well - simple, melodic, as Chris Cornell wails over the pumping bass and drums.
The solo, which enters at about 2:58 is worthy of "solo-of-the-year" consideration to say the
least. His specific tone is hard to duplicate without some sweet effects, a wah-wah, and
a whammy pedal; (unless you care to hit that octave with a bottleneck above your pickups
really, really close to your tremolo) but fiddle with it and you can get it close. Have fun!"
